TMC Entertainment Announces the Actor Behind the “Voice of Scripture” In Upcoming Miniseries Based on New York Times Best Seller

LOS ANGELES, OCT 20, 2005—Keith David, a Tony Award-nominee and Emmy Award-winning actor whose recent work includes big-screen appearances in Crash and Mr. and Mrs. Smith, has signed on to be the “Voice of Scripture” in TMC Entertainment’s upcoming miniseries, Walking the Bible.  The three-hour program is based on Bruce Feiler’s New York Times best-selling book of the same title. 

Drew Levin, Chairman and CEO of TMC Entertainment, announced the arrangement today.
“Keith David’s got a voice from God and a list of credits to prove it.  The importance of finding the ‘right’ voice to narrate integral passages from the Bible cannot be overstated.  As the ‘Voice of Scripture,’ Keith’s tone and his exceptional narration skills actually bring scripture to life in Walking the Bible.”

Keith David’s prolific career also includes theater performances, including the musical, Jelly’s Last Jam, and a voice-over performance as the narrator for the PBS production of Unforgivable Blackness: The Rise and Fall of Jack Johnson.

Currently in final post-production, Walking the Bible is TMC’s first initiative in a series of archaeological/travel/inspirational projects called Bible Journeys.  A high-definition production, the miniseries is scheduled to be broadcast on the PBS Network in the first quarter of 2006.
