TMC OFFERS BRUCE FEILER'S BEST SELLING BOOK ABRAHAM AS A THREE HOUR MINISERIES
(TMC Entertainment and Drew S. Levin) TMC Entertainment, producers of "Walking the Bible," are offering a new three-hour miniseries also based on a best-selling book by Bruce Feiler. "Abraham: A Journey to the Heart of Three Faiths," Feileršs follow-up to "Walking the Bible: A Journey by Land Through the Five Books of Moses" topped the New York Times nonfiction chart and continues to be a best seller. TMC licensed the rights from Feiler to produce a miniseries based on the book, according to TMC president and CEO Drew S. Levin.
"Bruce Feiler is one of the best nonfiction writers today. His writing style which combines his journalistic background with an amazing knowledge of history has resulted in the creation of these two very important books," said Levin. "Anyone who takes an active interest in the unfolding events in the Middle East cannot afford to miss this miniseries.."
"Abraham" will be shot on location in the Middle East. The series will follow the footsteps of Abraham as he sets out from the ancient city of Ur and ultimately settles in Hebron. Feiler traces this very route, resulting in the incredible journey and experiences that formed the basis for the miniseries.
Production is set to begin in the first quarter of 2004, and the show will be shot in high-definition video utilizing extensive CGI. It will be available in the fall of 2004.
